About Me

Ryan J. Hoover

Hoover Law is owned and operated by Ryan Hoover.

There is no one better than Ryan who understands the financial and emotional hardships that workplace and car crash injuries place upon the injured person and their family.  Originally from southern Illinois just east of St. Louis, Missouri, Ryan’s family was impacted by workplace and car crash injuries.  His father, a millwright, had numerous debilitating work injuries to his back, arms, and legs.

In addition, Ryan’s father was also involved in a severe crash leaving him with an artificial hip and scars.  All of these injuries contributed to Ryan’s father being awarded SSDI and unable to work.  This added financial pressure spread to the rest of the family, but to no one more so than Ryan’s mother who worked in nursing.

Ryan received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell College in 2006 and his Master of Arts degree from Webster University, graduating with honors in 2008.  After receiving his M.A. degree, Ryan attended law school at Ohio Northern University and obtained his Juris Doctor degree in 2014, having graduated cum laude. While at Ohio Northern, Ryan served as an executive board member for the Ohio Northern University Law Review as the Articles Research Editor.

Since 2016, Ryan has been practicing personal injury law for those injured in the State of Colorado.  Ryan has been, primarily, but not exclusively, representing and advocating for the rights and benefits of Colorado’s injured workers through Colorado’s workers’ compensation system.  Ryan proudly serves a board member of and contributor to the Workers’ Compensation Education Association (WCEA).

The WCEA is the pre-eminent group of attorneys constantly advocating for injured workers in Colorado and striving to effect change in the workers’ compensation system to benefit all Colorado workers.

In addition to his involvement with the WCEA, Ryan has been recognized multiple times by Best Lawyers in the area of Workers’ Compensation and is one of three nominees in 2024 for the Outstanding Claimant Attorney award by the Colorado Professionals in Workers’ Compensation (PWC).  Best Lawyers is one of the oldest and most respected peer review publications within the legal profession and Ryan’s recognition by Best Lawyers is a reflection of how his peers in the legal community view him as an attorney.  The PWC is an organization comprised of professionals across a variety of fields that are all integral to the Colorado workers’ compensation system.

Ryan is an accomplished litigator, having taken countless claims to court and secured an impressive success rate on behalf of injured workers or their surviving dependents when the employer’s insurer has denied benefits.

Such cases have included, but are not limited to, specific medical treatment being denied (e.g., surgery), the worker’s temporary disability benefits (“lost wages”) being denied or incorrectly calculated, pursuing permanent disability benefits that must be paid for the remainder of the worker’s life, fatal benefits being paid to the dependents of a worker killed while on the job, or when a worker’s claim for benefits is denied in its entirety.
